After spending the last two years establishing themselves as one of the hottest live bands in town, Brisbane-based duo Karoshi will release their second EP (titled “Prey To Be Saved”) on 4th August 2023 across all digital streaming services.
Prey To Be Saved contains six tracks that creatively infuse big beats, huge riffage, and an infectious danceability, creating an amazing energy that does not let up from start to finish.
The tracks have already proven to be live favourites and have translated seamlessly into the studio, plus have an added punch thanks to the production skills of internationally renowned superstar producer Zardonic (https://zardonic.net/), who has mixed tracks from The Prodigy to Beyoncé. He has been quoted as saying Karoshi is one of the most exciting acts he’s worked with in years.

FUN4EVRY1 is about how music seems to be all about being classified and labelled into genres and sub-genres, which detracts from the music and the enjoyment it can bring. We believe that music is indeed for everyone and shouldn’t be determined by what people wear or look like, and such a principle is so simple that Dave’s 8-year-old daughter features on the track to reinforce that basic message, that all music should be fun for everyone.

PINHEAD is more than a cover version, it is a reimagining that brings the track into the now and wouldn’t be out of place among a Prodigy “best of”. The song was originally done for a bit of fun at the suggestion of a friend who said the Brisbane Ramonesathon may be reintroduced, and it would be great to have something different than each band replicating the songs, The song turned out great so it was recorded for this release to keep dance floors and mosh pits moving.
